What are the differences between the Hardbound, Phonograph, and Archive Editions?

The Archive Edition is the original version of DRACULA: THE EVIDENCE that we first Kickstarted in 2019. It’s the entire text of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, presented as a gorgeously designed and curated briefcase full of the ephemera the novel is composed of – diaries, maps, letters, telegrams, newspaper clippings, and even a playable phonograph record, all immaculately designed and historically accurate to the era they came from.

The Phonograph Edition is a limited edition double-disc record set, intended as an extra accompaniment to the standard record included in the Archive Edition. It features bonus material that will never be released in physical format elsewhere, and a handful of exclusive artifacts.

The Hardbound Edition is a cloth-bound hardcover art book that uses creative photography of the Archive Edition’s artifacts to illustrate and accompany the full original text of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. It measures 9x11”, with a page count of 352, and features high end production and design, including marbled edges and a translucent red acetate book jacket.

How is the Phonograph Edition different from the record included in the Archive Edition?

The Archive Edition includes a single record containing portions of Dr. Seward’s audio diary, narrated by him on his phonograph, that mainly concern the case of Lucy Westenra.

The Phonograph Edition is a double-disc record intended as an extra accompaniment to the Archive Edition. It is comprised entirely of material not included on the standard record, most of which concerns Seward’s mysterious patient Renfield. It also includes a number of bonus artifacts, some of which also come with the Archive Edition, and some of which are exclusive to this set.

Both records will be 33.33 rpm. Together, the discs will not cover 100% of the original text due to space constraints, but the entirety of Dr. Seward’s audio journal will be included in the digital edition as an MP3 file.

What are the dimensions of the Archive Edition's suitcase?

We don’t have final dimensions for the suitcase yet. Our current plans involve a case roughly 13x19x4”, but we’re still experimenting with the final product design, and this is subject to change.

Do I need to purchase the digital edition separately?

The digital edition will automatically come free with a purchase of any physical edition of the project – the Hardbound Edition, Phonograph Edition, and Archive Edition, as well as any of the signed and limited editions thereof.

If you have only purchased the map of London, or a book from Beehive unrelated to Dracula, you will need to purchase the digital edition separately.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
